**********
I just finished reading Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur. It was such a neat book and I learned so much from it. In so many ways I feel like I actually know some of the women that I read about. The book has a chapter on Eve, Sarah, Rahab, Ruth, Hannah, Mary, Anna, the Samaritan Woman, Mary and Martha, Mary Magdalene, and Lydia. In the case of each woman I learned something that I didn't know before. One thing that I really liked about the book was that it gave background and depth to the story, most of the time based on the Jewish custom of the time, and helped me better understand the significance of one thing or another. There are so many things that I learned that I want to share, but I want to encourage you to read it because I can't share all of the neat things.
The faith of Hannah to God is just amazing to me. She had to have so much faith in God to be able to leave her toddler/very young son at the tabernacle because she had promised God she would if she were blessed with a child. She was truly a woman of faith and a woman of her word. I pray that I can be a woman of such faith and so true to my word.
I came to realize the deep faith and areas that needed improvement that each of these women shared and saw some areas in my life that need improvement too.
Since I liked reading this book so much, I wanted to host a giveaway for a copy of it. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
To enter, leave a comment on this post telling who your favorite woman in the Bible is and, if you would like, why she is your favorite. I will leave the post open for comments until Friday at 11:00 p.m. and will announce a winner on Saturday.

I've always loved Esther. She stood up for Truth no matter what. I've always wanted to have her faith.
I'm excited about the giveaway! I'd love to have a copy of the book! :)
Thanks Charree!
hmm..i don't know. to be honest I don't know much about the women of the bible. Have a super week!
Hi! Christi told me about your book giveaway, looks like a good one...fingers crossed!
Having a hard time picking a favorite, but I have always like Anna from the new testiment who spends her time in the temple praying and is one of the first people to recognize Jesus as the Messiah when he's just a kid...so we'll go with her for now, plus I just love the name Anna!
Thanks for the oppurtunity to win!

GREAT giveaway!!! I LOVE John MacArthur!!!
My favorite woman in the Bible is Leah. I know I've got MUCH more to learn about the Word, but from what I know about her, she's so left out and forgotten and yet so faithful to Jacob. Seems like she really loved him even though he preferred Rachel. I just have a soft spot for those that are second. Sigh.
Congratulations to the winner!!

Hi Charee! I have been checking in when I can to see if you were back, hows that adorable little baby?
Thanks for your congrats! We are all quite excited!
One of my favorite women of the Bible is the woman who had been sick for so many years and knew if she could just touch Jesus she would be healed. Her faith was tremendous! Just think of all the people crowded around who were touching Jesus as they walked down the road but were not changed. She was seeing (and experiencing) Jesus for who He really was.
YAY!!!! Thank you SO very much!!! I can't wait to read and learn! :)
His,
Mrs. U
