Muddy Puppy...

Our dog Dozer has been making quite a mess the last couple of day. He has taken to digging out the rocks that sit below our A/C condensation run-off line. As a result, he has been making a mess in the mud and coming to the back door looking like he is in camouflage.

A New Job...

I am very excited to announce that I will begin a new job in mid-August. It is just the job for me and I will enjoy what I will be doing immensely.

A month or so ago, our pastor asked me if I was looking for a job in the fall. Because I enjoy being home (and we have the financial means so that I don't have to work outside of the home right now), I haven't been actively looking for a job that would put my outside of our home. However, if I could find a job that I could do from home, it would be a blessing so that my DH and I could save up some money for when we have our first child.

A month or so ago, our pastor asked me if I was looking for a job in the fall and asked if I was interested in a job for the church. He had a few other people that he was thinking about for the job and asked my DH and I if we would be praying about it. When my DH and I got back from our trip to Florida, our pastor told me that he wanted me to do the job and said we would meet and work out the details.

Today, I met with our pastor to discuss the details of the job. I will be basically the church Public Relations (PR) person and church "administrator." It is great because I will work about 10 hours a week, but it will be from my home. I will be doing PR things which is what my major in college was.

Isn't it neat how God works!

In celebration of my new job, my DH took me out for a celebration dinner. We went to T.G.I. Friday's (which is one of my favorite places to eat).

I just wanted to pass on my good news. I hope that all of you have a blessed day!

Some Values to Pass On...

Hi everybody!

Thanks for all of the compliments on my wedding picture and for participating in Show and Tell Friday.

Well, today is Sunday and it has been a great day. My DH and I went to church this morning where our pastor preached on Proverbs 3. He discussed how there are certain things that each individual values. He then began to talk about how as parents (or one-day in the future parents) we must have something of value to pass on to our children. He then laid out six values (from Proverbs 3) that we should have in our lives in order to pass on to our children.

The six values from Proverbs 3 were...

1. Obey the Word of God and He will bless you by extending the length of your days. (v. 1-2)

2. Remain faithful to the Lord and He will bless you. (v. 3-4)

3. Trust in the Lord instead of yourself and He will bless you by directing your steps. (v. 5-6)

4. Fear the Lord and turn away from sin and He will bless you. (v. 7-8)

5. Honor the Lord with your money and He will bless you. (v. 9-10)

6. Accept the Lord's discipline because it reveals a Father's love for His children. (v. 11-12)

God spoke to me during the message about my failure in some of these areas. For instance, God convicted me about my need to spend more time in His Word and to trust in Him to direct my life.

I just thought I would share what I learned today. I hope it is a blessing and encouragement to you. Have a blessed Sunday!

Show and Tell Friday (July 20th)...

I am so very happy that today is Friday, Show and Tell Friday. I several things that I would like to show; but, I figure that if I spread them out I will have several weeks of things to show. So, this week I am showing my new wedding photo and its frame.

My DH and I were married in May of 2006. However, due to the hectic nature of my life over the past year, I did not remember to call my photographer and order my 11"x14" until sometime in late April.

A few days before my DH and I left to go to Florida, my picture came. I was so excited that I brought my DH out that day to pick out a frame. It now hangs in the hallway and I get to pass it at least 50 times a day.

Dinner and a Movie...

Today was a good day. My DH and I just finished dinner (I know it is almost 10:00, that is not very good). However, we spent the late afternoon running errands and even though he offered to take me out to dinner, I just felt better about not spending the money since I had everything to make dinner. So, though we ate late, we did eat at home.

Anyway, on to something else. My DH and I are fixing to watch a disc in the Ken Burns Civil War documentary. My DH and I are both into the study of politics and I am a big Civil War and WWII information fan. If any of you are into to war documentaries, you should check it.

I hope that all of you had a great day. I look forward to Show & Tell Friday tomorrow.

I'm back again...

Hi everybody!

I do thoroughly apologize for very long absence. I have been gone for over a month and that is very long time. I really need to catch up with everybody and see how things are going.

As you know from my last post, I took a trip back "home" to Florida. My DH and I were gone for almost 4 weeks. The first week we spent visiting with his family. Then we went to my family's home. My DH had to go to Princeton for two weeks on business, so I stayed with my family. When my DH got back, we spent another week with my family.

It was so wonderful to see everybody. My sister brought me to the beach and we had such a good time playing in the Gulf. My mom and I recovered some chairs. I also spent two days with my Grandmother (aka Gram) while she taught me how to embroider. We worked on making an apron.

So, now that I am back in Texas, I will have to get back to posting.

I hope that you are having a wonderful day.
