A couple of weeks ago, the weather began changing from cold to nice and breezy. The weather change coupled with the first day of spring gave us a good reason to head outdoors and have a spring day.Judah cooperated as I prepared us some goodies to take to a local park for a picnic. We had chicken salad, crescent rolls, mixed fruit salad, birds' nest cookies, and of course some sweet tea.
We brought along our Radio Flyer to give Judah a little ride; however, the paint was coming off like dust on it so that idea was nixed.
While we were home in Florida, I found the cutest little book about spring. I brought it along to read at our celebration.
We also brought Judah over to the swings and tried those out with him. Before long, the cool breeze got a little to chilly though so we headed back to the car. We did have a great time enjoying God' s beautiful creation though.

Laundry or the Outdoors...
Hey there! I am in the midst of a large pile, make that mountain, of laundry. We traveled back from Florida on Sunday after getting to spend a little over a week with our families. Now, I am in the midst of unpacking, putting away, and getting caught up on laundry.
Today, however, the weather was so beautiful that we just couldn't stay indoors. So, off to the zoo we went for Judah's first zoo trip.
He was mainly interested in the fish. The rest of it didn't really grab his attention. I was very interested in the lion though because he was being very photogenic for me. I brought along his giraffe for the fun of it. He played with it while we sat on a bench enjoying the weather.
I also got several pictures of all of us.
We even ended the day with the book Tails. It is a really cute book with interactive and touch-and-feel activities with all different types of animals in it.
Now back to my laundry and unpacking.

Week 33 (For Lack of a Better Title)...
Happy Monday everybody! I hope that your weekend was pleasant.
I have a new tummy picture from Saturday. I am currently in the middle of week 33. The time is getting closer and I am sooooo EXCITED! I have been feeling our little boy move around a lot, even when I am standing up. Tomorrow I start with the twice a week appointments. My hospital suitcase is packed. So, we are just waiting on him now. :-D
I am hoping to get some maternity pictures taken around week 35. I want to have some cute pictures of my DH and I with the baby bump. I figure that I will be big enough by then and that I don't risk him coming before we get them taken if we get them done before week 37.
On Saturday, one of my good friends threw a baby shower for me. I don't have the pictures from it yet, but it was really nice. She did such a nice job. She decorated in blues and greens with little cars and polka dots. I will have to share some pictures when I get them. I had such a nice time visiting with the wives' of my DH's co-workers.
Not much has been happening around here. The high is only 91 degrees today. It makes me want to do something outside, like take a nature walk or something, maybe we will do that this evening. Today I am zoning the dining room, as well as doing my weekly home blessing. If I have the time, which I probably won't, I will work on a couple of nursing covers I started last week.
What is your day looking like?

The Happenings Around Here...
Hello everyone! I hope that your week is going well. I am so excited it is Wednesday because that means my dear sister is coming tomorrow. Yay!!!
I am sorry that I have been away from my blog for the week almost. Things have been not ridiculously busy, but busy enough. I have been having a nice amount of energy for the last little bit and I have been trying to harness it into doing productive things around the house.
The weather around here has been awful the last couple of days. It rains and then rains, and then rains some more. Myself and the doggies have been keeping ourselves inside and dry. A lot of our poor Irises just started to bloom last week and the rain has beat them down so now they are bent over. Poor things!
I wanted to share a picture of my mom and I from when she came. We were our photographers so you will have to forgive the fuzziness of it.
I wanted to share a project that my mom and I worked on while she was here several weeks ago. We bought these big metal utility shelves to help store some stuff and made some covers for them so that dust and dog hair wouldn't gather on the shelves' content and so that it would look more appealing than just a shelf full of junk. The two covers took us almost a week to finish but I am really happy with the way they turned out. The shelves hold so much stuff and they don't look too shabby while doing it.They are made out of outdoor canvas and duck cloth.
The baskets on top of the shelves each hold 50 CD's which made it possible for me to get rid of my media tower and not waste space.

The Blooms Around...
Happy Wednesday to you! The weather is beautiful today. The type of day where you would just like to spend the whole day in a hammock reading a book, too bad I don't have a hammock.
I wanted to say thanks to all of you for your feedback about the vacuum-pack bags. I wound up purchasing a set of them and was very impressed with the job they did. Now all of my sweaters and shirts are packed away as well as my king comforter and a queen duvet cover. I am a BIG fan of them now.
Most of our flowers in the front beds and in pots on the back porch have been blooming. I took a few pictures of the blooms around and thought that I would share them with you.
First we have Dianthus surrounded by Lillies (that aren't blooming yet) and Dusty Miller. Then there are Columbine (which are one of my personal favorites).
There are also some Purple Oxalice and Lemon Thyme.
The Iris are also blooming...
As well as the Gerbera Daisies.
Around back, my Clematis is blooming.
And that is the tour of the blooms around my abode. Thanks for stopping by.
Do you have blooms around you? Which one is your favorite (if it is possible to have a favorite)?

Blanket Adieu...
It has been cold here for the last week (by cold in mean low 50's high 40's at night). I am usually cold-natured and my husband is the opposite.
This week I pulled out our comforter (which we haven't used since late March) and put away the light blanket that has covered our bed the last several months. It is so fun to wake up with a comforter around my ears, all snuggled and warm. This does however make it hard for me to get out of bed though. I do feel however that fall is officially upon us and that makes me very happy.
So what is the weather like for you?

Thursday's Thoughts...
Today it actually feels like fall. The wind is blowing and it is quite cool outside (60 degrees). I think that I will actually wear a sweater today. It is so very exciting. I have been waiting for fall weather to come and now some of it is finally here. So, what is the weather like for you today?
Today my DH and I are going to plan Frisbee golf. We have missed going recently because it has been way to hot to spend over an hour in the blazing sun. But now, we have the opportunity.
Today my DH finds out the results of his comprehensive exams that he took last month. I am sure that he did fine, but now he will have the peace of mind that they are behind him.

A Gloomy Tuesday...
Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope that all of you had a wonderul Monday and a great weekend. I have been extremely busy working on school work (which seems to be my constant status at this time).
It is a cool and gloomy day where I live. It almost reminds me of the winters I used to have in Florida. What is really weird is that it seems that spring was here a few weeks ago and now winter has come back. Besides, how else can you rationalize having snow in April?
I am really looking forward to the end of the month (or at least post-April 26th). It will be so nice to not have to worry about school assignments on top of my regular things. I decided that I am going to have an "I'm Finally Finished" party. It won't be anything big probably just a nice dinner followed by some crafting (which I have been dying to do but can't justify considering pressing school assignments).
So, now that I am beginning to ramble I will bring this to a close by wishing all of you a blessed day and beautiful weather!

The April Cold...
Well, it has been a very, very busy week around here. I think that I looked at my computer a total of 3 times since last Tuesday. I hope that all of you have been well and had a wonderful Easter.
A song was running through my head all day Saturday, White Christmas. Believe it or not, we had snow this weekend. That's right, SNOW. My DH and I joked about having a White Easter instead of a White Christmas and all day long I was just dying to put in a Christmas CD. It seemed like the mood was wrong and Christmas jingles just might help take away the oddity of an only snowfall happening on April 7th instead of December 7th. But in the end, I got the snow I had been hoping far all winter.
I was very excited. Being the Florida girl that I am, I was as bad as a kid playing in it. My DH and I had a snowball fight and my three dogs loved chasing snowballs.
After we had played outside for a while, we came in and sat around a bunch of candles (since we don't have a fireplace) and played Sequence while drinking hot apple cider. It was great. I thought I would share some pictures.

Spring Is On Its Way...

Spring is on its way, at least for me that is. The tree in our backyard is getting new growth and the weather is warming up really quickly. My DH and I put in a flower bed this weekend and I am eagerly awaiting beautiful blooms later on this spring. The sky has been so blue and bright the last few days. It makes me feel like doing something outdoors, like go for a picnic or long walk. I also have the cutest little birds that have taken to build a nest under the awning of our back porch. Since my kitchen overlooks the back porch, I get to hear the little birds chirp and sing while I work in the kitchen. It is so refreshing.
On Thursday, my DH and I went bike riding at a local lake. The website said it was a "Bike and Hike Trail." However, it was more like a path through some tall grass and small trees. I enjoyed the ride; but, it was way more than I was picturing. In my mind, I saw pavement and flowers. In reality, there was a grass and limbs. My DH and I did have a good time though. Just how soon we frequent the "Bike and Hike Trail" again, I have no idea. For now, I will stick to my yoga and pilates for exercise.

A Cold and Blustery Sort of Day...

Today is a very windy day. It is cold but not freezing. Everytime I hear the wind blow around the house, I think of Pooh and his blustery day.

It Has Been Cold...
This past week has been very cold where I live. While I was previously a Florida girl, I moved in August to Texas. Here in Texas, the summers are very hot and (as I recently found out) the winters are very cold. I am sure I looked rather odd to all of my neighbors as I walked around in the icy (not snowy) weather taking pictures of icicles. Hey, a girl who was practically raised in Florida, is amazed by icicles. I thought I would share a few pictures from this past week.
